The End Is Near
In November 2015, Attainable Records was founded by a handful of university students hoping to create a judgement-free arts center. Their idealism led them to create new relationships and memories, but it was also their downfall.

Synopsis
In November 2015, Attainable Records was formed. A group of friends and university students took a chance and created an arts space and music venue in Lethbridge, Alberta. In these films we explore their journey, from the optimistic beginnings through the struggles and lessons that came along the way. Musicians and artists from all across Canada came to share Attainable’s stage, and even though Attainable eventually had to close its doors, we want to explore the legacy that remains. In our linear film we document the lifespan of Attainable Records through interviews with the former staff as well as local artists. In our immersive film we want to explore the emotional journey that came with trying to build and maintain Attainable from our point of view, the original Attainable staff.
The team
Hello! We are both passionate about 3D animation, especially when it explores new territories. We believe that narrative VR animations are a relatively untapped medium and we hope to explore it further.

Interview Roster
Terrific Kids Artist Collective is a Lethbridge artists community founded by prominent members in the music scene. Terrific Kids organizes shows for local talent, as well as touring artists. Terrific Kids is now a Record Label that produces and distributes cassette tapes. They have worked with Attainable Records often in the past and would have interesting insight on what they believed Attainable did for the arts community.
Going forward with this project it would be good to hear from all of the former Attainable staff on where they are at now and what Attainable meant to them. All are very unique people who would certainly have a good perspective on local arts.
The Sewing Machine Factory is a similar venue to Attainable Records, though they are based in Edmonton. It would be interesting to here their opinions on running a small arts business.
